In the past few weeks, we’ve seen unprecedented events unfold globally and the situation continues to evolve rapidly.
As a result, we are delaying the launch of our 2020 ADCC Awards and Student Competition. These competitions will still be open for entries soon, but we know that at this particular moment, our community’s attention is rightfully focused elsewhere. We still strongly believe that our industry’s creative excellence is worth celebrating, especially in uncertain times, but we know that right now is not the time.
For ease of entry, we will also be moving to digital-only submissions this year – a first in our show’s 71 year history. Deadlines will be extended accordingly. For now, the 2020 ADCC Awards show is still scheduled for November 12th. We hope to be able to celebrate with you all at that time.
We had several smaller community events planned this year as well. We have decided to switch these to virtual gatherings to keep our community connected and inspired. We will be announcing these events in the coming weeks.
The first season of our podcast, Created, is also available to listen online, on Apple Podcasts, on Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. Our second season of the podcast will be coming soon as well, with even more stories behind great Canadian work.
Since 1948, the ADCC’s goals have been simply these: to inspire creativity, to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas, and to forge a sense of community among advertising and design professionals. As the only non-profit dedicated to encouraging excellence in Canadian advertising and design, we hope to continue fulfilling this mission well into the future.
The reality of being a non-profit is that we have always put our funds back into our programming. This means that we rely heavily on the support of the community we represent. We know that this is a difficult time, but we hope that we can continue to count on your support later this year – either by becoming a Member, or by continuing your participation in our awards program. Without your support, there is no ADCC.
