After thoughtful consideration, we have made the very difficult decision to cancel the 2020 ADCC Awards show scheduled for this November.

While as a non-profit we rely on revenue from the awards show to fund our educational programming and events, we recognize that given current economic challenges for most of our agency, studio and production company partners, the right thing to do is to stand by their side.

What we are focusing on right now is doing everything we can to keep our creative community inspired and connected.

We’ve started offering virtual events. Our “In Conversation With…” series features candid, no-holds-barred conversations with industry leaders. We’ve featured Judy John (Global CCO at Edelman) and Angus Tucker (CCO at john st.) so far and this weekly series will continue into the summer. 

We are still moving ahead with the 2020 Student Competition. Great student work should be celebrated and promoted, especially this year. To ensure that all students can participate, we’ve waived entry fees. Students can enter their work for free by June 5. We look forward to announcing the finalists in the summer.

We’ve also been exploring the current office spaces designers are working and creating from during these strange times through our Instagram series, Home Office.⁠ It’s been a fun way for us to connect with creatives across Canada and share our new working reality.

We are still busy working on our podcast, Created. Our second season has been delayed, but we hope to release it soon. In the meantime, if you’re looking for stories behind great Canadian work, you should catch up on our first season.
