Directions: An Annual Awards Show
It was the same year PEI gave up a half-century of prohibition; velcro, the frisbee, and information theory were all invented; London hosted the Olympics in an impoverished Europe; Gandhi was shot; and Israel became a state. That was 1948. In 1948 we were called the Art Directors’ Club of Toronto.
Today our scope is national, international even (awards show judges come from all over the world and so do members), and includes creatives of all kinds, working in many media. From the very start we’ve encouraged only the highest-quality work, regardless of monetary success or politics. And, as always, we are here to contribute to the community.
