Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Neural Networks… we’ve all heard the buzzwords, but what does it mean for our creative industry?
On May 29, thought leaders from some of Canada’s leading agency and tech players will discuss the creative challenges and opportunities that arise in the age of Artificial Intelligence – and how AI is fuelling the next wave of creativity.
This event will feature speakers, followed by a panel discussion. Speakers include Mike Halminen (Creative Lead at Google Canada), Annie Bedard (Strategy Lead at Jam3), Phillip Moad (Product Owner at WestJet). Dré Labre (Futurist at TBD.company) will also speak and moderate the panel discussion.

Creative Lead at Google Canada
Mike has been Creative Lead at Google for over the past 1647 days, they say if you don’t believe in God, bring data!
In this role he spends his time engaging with Creative Agencies and Brands across Canada to make great work that works with all things Google.
Prior to this, Mike was SVP Creative Director at MacLaren McCann, working across brands such as General Motors, Xbox, Mastercard, RBC, Rogers and dozens of others.

With over a decade working in digital strategy and with a background in anthropology, Annie has developed a multidisciplinary approach to designing human-centric solutions for partners and brands, using data-driven research backed by a rigorous approach to methodology to inform strategies and solutions.By blending qual and quant techniques aimed at uncovering deep insights, behaviours and motivations, Annie looks to craft regional solutions that can scale to address global challenges. Annie has brought her expertise to brands and platforms that include Google, adidas, Facebook, Bottega Veneta, Nissan, Oculus, Nike, eBay, Kimberly Clark, Kraft and City Bank.
Product Owner, AI at WestJet
Phillip is currently a Product Owner for WestJet’s AI-powered chatbot, first to be launched by a Canadian airline. In this role, he is responsible for advancing the chatbot (named Juliet) beyond air travel and making her a 24/7 digital travel assistant across the various phases of the guest journey.
He has over 10 years of experience in the digital and technology sector working on various projects that span across multiple industries. At WestJet, he is part of the Digital & Innovation Lab team who are tasked with exploring new technologies, trends, and partnerships to leverage and sustain a competitive advantage across competitors.
When time permits, he is passionate about sharing his expertise and networking with explorers and futurists who are on the lookout for the next big disruption in the tech world.
