Craft Club: Brand Design

Ben is an ACD and Senior Designer at Daughter Creative, helping them build edible and drinkable brands like Cabin, Annex, Establishment, and Cinnzeo. He has a keen interest in branding, packaging, and motion design, with a focus on humor and authenticity.

Sheldon is an award-winning Creative Director specializing in design, brand strategy, consumer packaging and user interface design for new and established companies. He was the Creative Director of District Ventures, a business accelerator founded by Arlene Dickinson, where his team focussed on branding, packaging design and advertising for innovative Consumer Packaged Goods companies. He was a founding partner and Creative Director of Dissolve, one of the most recognized brands in stock footage. He was the Global Creative Director at Corbis, one of the world's leading providers of commercial and editorial visual media, and was a founding partner and Global Creative Director of Veer, an image and type company renowned for its design-­driven philosophy and innovative marketing pieces. Veer was later acquired by Bill Gates. He previously held creative positions at Getty Images, and Adobe Systems. His work has earned 6 Vimeo Staff Picks and has been acclaimed by Time Magazine, Fast Company, Mashable, BuzzFeed, The AV Club, The Huffington Post, Creative Review, Webby Awards, The Shorty Awards, Type Directors Club, Communication Arts, SXSW Web Awards, and the AdRodeo. He was also voted Top 40 Under 40 by Avenue Magazine. He lives just outside of Calgary with his wife Kim and their children Ella, Easton and Beckham.

Brian has worked across the country at some of Canada's best design shops, advertising agencies, experiential agencies and digital agencies. With all this varied experience he picked up an absolute devotion to design, craft and the pursuit of unorthodox and talk-worthy ideas. He has led iconic global and national brands, and throughout his career, he's garnered recognition at Cannes, D&AD, One Show, Clios, Epica & Communication Arts as well as every national show in Canada. Beyond industry recognition, his work has been featured on the Tonight Show, launched a small Alberta town to world fame, and been immortalized in Wikipedia.
